Meet the founder of Single Parents Resources & Support

Amanda Jaeger is convinced that we can be the village single parents so desperately need. Amanda is passionate about changing the current statistics for children raised in single-parent homes.

She has led a single moms group in Central Minnesota for 13 years. After much trial and error, she felt the call to write a book. Her book and curriculum Singly Ever After https://a.co/d/9JSp9bi (Amanda Skold) tells her story as a single mom and how she discovered some of the principles that made her journey easier. The group study teaches practical life skills and encourages single moms to deepen their faith.

Not only was Amanda raised by a single mom but she also experienced life as a single mom herself, for almost 10 years. This has given her a passion for teaching biblical truths alongside the very practical how-tos. She believes that the lives of single parents can be transformed by authentic community.

Amanda and her husband Nick were married in 2016 and are recent empty nesters. She is proud to have 2 adult children chasing their dreams in college. She would be the first to tell you “If I can do it, you can too!”.

When Amanda is not teaching, you will likely find her nose in a book or researching some wild new idea. She is an avid gardener and loves to do anything in the kitchen. She loves to experiment with recipes and create delicious meals or desserts, most of which she stores in her head which drives her family crazy!

Doug Vagle

After almost 9 years of youth ministry in Brainerd MN, God called Doug and Peggy to move to Sartell and start The Waters Church in September of 2007. It has proven to be an exciting adventure as they have seen God’s faithful provision and seen God’s work in the hearts of the people in Sartell. After starting with 12 people and a trailer full of equipment, the church has grown to over 1200 people attending services each weekend. Their family has seen Eph. 3:20 in practice, “God can do immeasurably more than all that we could ask or even imagine!”

Doug and Peggy are both graduates of North Central University and have 3 children, Abby, Nathaniel and Sophia. They also have a daughter in law Elisia and their new grandson Giovanni.

Nicole Snider

Nicole Snider is a wife, mother, mentor, and friend. She and her husband, Jerry, have been married for 29+ years and have 2 adult children and a grandson. Nicole was raised by a single mother and saw firsthand the struggles she faced and sacrifices she made to provide for Nicole and her brother, which is why she is so passionate as a board member.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in biology, but has worked in various different industries throughout her career from entry level to management. This along with her experiences as a military wife moving around the United States and overseas, as well as interacting with and working with people from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds, has shaped her broad perspective on the world how to interact within it.

Nicole has traveled extensively and loves meeting new people. She has a heart for hospitality, creating an environment that people want to be a part of, and mentoring. When she is not busy working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, gardening, most anything outside, reading crafting and dabbling in writing.

Her vast business knowledge, world perspective, and personal experience make her an incredible asset to our organization!

We are excited to continue to follow God in providing support and resources for single parents through speaking, events, teaching, and providing curriculum for local groups. There are many ways for YOU to get involved. We are always looking for leaders, sponsors, and would love to educate your organization. You can book a free consultation to speak to Amanda about potential opportunities here:

Educating through speaking

We know that almost everyone wants to help single parents. Most don’t know how. We can help. We would love to speak to your organization and offer tailored tips to help single parents in your area. (Many are free!)

Increasing Groups

Through community, we all thrive. Single parent groups provide a safe space for single parents to share their struggles, hear stories of hope, learn practical strategies to use immediately, and find the community they and their children need!

Events

Single parents are stretched thin, Events give them the opportunity to gather with many others walking the lonely road they are on. This visual representation that they are not alone can by itself be significant. The messages of hope and inspiration are meant to give them the endurance they need to continue to be the best they can be.
